An Arabian Night

A menu composed of fragrant, gently spiced dishes from the Middle East, and the shores of the Southern Mediterranean

€95 per person

Meze:

A selection of 6 middle eastern small dishes (at least 4 will be vegetarian) which will include some of the following:

Baba Ganoush, Hummus, Muhammara (walnuts & red pepper dip), Spinach with Yoghurt and Cumin, Tunisian Salade Mechouia (grilled tomato, peppers, and chilli with olives & cumin), Cumin-Roast Cauliflower with sesame, Carrot & Cinnamon Salad, Iranian courgette salad, spicy sausage with tomato, peppers and tahina yoghurt, Beetroot Borani (with yoghurt), Zaalouk (fried aubergine and tomato salad), Saffron chicken skewers, mussel kebabs with tarator sauce

 Served with freshly baked pitta bread

Main Course:

served with couscous and green leaf and herb salad

Chicken, Olive and Preserved Lemon Tagine

Butternut Squash or Aubergine or Courgette Kuku, with mint or dill, walnuts and cheese – a middle eastern baked frittata that is fabulous eaten warm or at room temperature   V

Samar Harak – Baked fish with tomato, herbs, tahina & yoghurt.   We’ll choose the freshest fish available on the day – sea bream, sea bass, mackerel, tuna…whatever is most tempting

Pudding:

Tunisian Orange and Almond Cake - Divine citrus syrup-soaked cake served with fresh fruit  V

White Chocolate & Pomegranate Cheesecake - not strictly Middle Eastern, but contains pomegranate molasses and pomegranate seeds and is so delicious I think you will forgive me for including it (when pomegranates are unavailable, they will be replaced with strawberries, or peaches or figs)  V

M’Hancha - Fabulous filo serpent coil, with almond filling, scented with orange flower water and cardamom  V
