Trulli Vegetarian and Vegan

A vegetarian feast of a menu with dishes drawn from all around the communities of the Mediterranean

€75 per person (3 courses, excluding Antipasto)

€80 per person (3 courses, excluding Cooler)

€85 per person (all 4 courses)

Mediterranean Antipasto :

A selection of 8 small dishes based on the best seasonal ingredients.   This may include some of the following.   If there are dishes you would particularly like to try (or you particularly loathe), let us know and we will do our best to include/exclude them.

Peperonata (a tangle of red and yellow peppers with toasted pinenuts) VV

Courgette Flower Fritters filled with ricotta and pistachios V

Polpette di Pane (bread and cheese fritters) V

Burrata (when we can get the vegetarian burrata) with peach, rocket and roast almond salad V

Caponata di Zucca – sweet and sour mix of squash, celery, raisins and tomato, with flaked almonds  VV

Insalata di Borlotti, Rucola e Cipolle Rosse – borlotti beans, rocket and Tropea or Acquaviva red onions VV

 Ceglie Goats’ Milk Ricotta when available, with olives, mint and capers V

Baba Ganoush - grilled aubergine puree VV

Roast Ricotta & Grape Crostini  V

Hummus chickpea and tahini dip VV

Muhammara  walnut & red pepper dip VV

Spinach with Yoghurt & Cumin V

Tunisien Salade Mechouia  grilled tomato, peppers, and chilli with olives & cumin) VV

Cumin-Roast Cauliflower with sesame, fig syrup and tahini VV

Carrot & Cinnamon Salad  VV

 Cooler:

Gazpachio - Spanish iced tomato and pepper soup    VV

OR

Iced Yoghurt, Mint, Avocado and Cucumber Soup    V

Main Course:

Puglian caramelised onion, olive, caper pie - delicious flaky olive oil pastry, filled with slow-cooked Aquaviva red onions, olives and capers, served with a rocket, tomato and radish salad    V

OR

Butternut Squash or Aubergine or Courgette Kuku, with walnuts and feta – a middle eastern baked frittata that is fabulous eaten warm or at room temperature, served with herb and green leaf salad, tabbouleh     V

OR

Orecchiette alle cime di rapa* – the classic Puglian pasta dish, little ear-shaped pasta with ‘turnip top’ greens

*fresh cime di rapa only available mid-September onwards, before that they will be frozen.  They still taste molto buono    V or VV

Tiella di Funghi Cardoncelli, Patate e Olive – Puglian gratin of king oyster mushrooms with potato and olives, served with a rocket, tomato and radish salad        V or VV

Pudding:

Baked Vanilla Ricotta with roast apricots or peaches or cherries or figs, or with strawberries  V

OR

Torta Caprese – moist chocolate and almond cake, vanilla mascarpone and roast or fresh fruit V

OR

A Selection of Excellent Ice Creams served with home-made lace biscuits, fruit coulis V

OR

Grilled Peaches and seasonal Fruit with brown sugar and thyme, served with banana sorbet  VV
